Review: B+ (1.11.07) With this 30th anniversary edition, Project Censored continues full steam with another batch of 25 topics not covered all that well by media. Short and detailed, these are great nuggets that have been sevearly overlooked, but should be known. Even if you remember fragmanets, these include updates. And even updates to the 25 stories of last year. This edition included a bonus anniversary section providing updates to the number one story of each year. Trust me you will want to read about George Bush Sr (Specifically 1991 & 1989), and Reagan's (as you will see, ridiculous) Soviet Military Scare (1985). Chapter 4's annual Junk Food news is always disturbing to realize just how much garbage the media chooses to cover (but is also an excellent chapter for many other reasons too). Chapter 6's annual coverage of what Corporations own is chilling, but increadbily informative as usual, and Chapter 9's annual Index Report delivers around the world censorship issues. Typically the essays are hit or miss for the rest of the 1/3 remaining, but in this volume, Chapter 10 is a remarkable piece about Global Dominance Group & US Corporate Media. And of course, the whole volume (as with others) is peppered with Tom Tomorrow's This Modern World comics (which are hilarious, and awful at making reality hit hard).
