Comments: SUbSET was a collaboration between Sir Mix-a-Lot and the Presidents of the United States of America. Around 1997 the idea began as a Jimi Hendrix cover. Instead, they worked on a bit of original material, drawing from their collective disillusionment with the music industry. A few performances resulted in 1998. The crowd went wild, and the quartet decided to pursue their unlikely new direction further and recorded about an album's worth of material over 1999. They planned a tour in 2000, but split over lack of enthusiasm for the process of putting out and supporting a record, and Mix-a-lot wanted to experiment with alternative metal and industrial sounds. None of the recordings have officially been released. Below includes some (titles not official) songs that leaked on the net.
