American Radiation Intake
The average American's radiation exposure has doubled since 1980, largely because of the booming use of CT scans. CT scans save thousands of lives by detecting cancer and heart disease, but a person who receives two scans is bathed in as much radiation as if they stood two miles from ground zero at Hiroshima.-New England Journal of Medicine.The Week Magazine, Dec 14, 2007, vol 7, Iss 340, pp. 22.

Season Shot - Ammo with Flavor
Shotgun shells with pellets that flavor the meat or animal you just killed. Flavors planned include; cajun, lemon pepper, garlic, teriyaki, and honey mustard. Brett Holm (products inventor) in Chaska, Minnesota says that Season Shot will not only season the birds, but also prevent tooth damage caused by steel shot. The heat from the stove melts the pellets," he says. He hopes to have the product out in 2007.

New Rock Skipping Record
Russell Byars, a 43-year-old engineer from Pennsylvania, has been named the new world stone-skimming champion after skipping a stone across water 51 times and breaking the previous record of 40 skims.
