Cruis'n Series

Wiki, Developers Midway Games (Arcade)/Williams (N64)
Released 12.3.96, 2 Players.
Overview: A racing game loosly based on real-life locations (over boasting landmarks) in 14 courses, with only 11 on the menu screen (they include color coded by dificulty; 1. Golden Gate Park, 2. San Francisco, 3. US 101, 4. Redwood Forest, 5. Beverly Hills, 6. LA Freeway, 7. Death Valley, 8. Arizona, 9. Grand Canyon, 10. Iowa, 11. Chicago, 12. Indiana, 13. Appalachia, & 14. Washington DC). Avoiding oncoming traffic and construction, and there is the option to change the music at the press of a button. There are 28 unlockable cars by winning "Cruise the USA" with a new car after each difficulty level (1, 3, 5) beaten. Take caution at the horribly jerky frame rate resulting in glitchy popups. Best examples include the surprise Redwood Forest. Crusin does exactly what the title says...so don't expect action or anything challenging, just cruise through one of N64's first games.
Cheats, Codes Tips & Eggs (WorldDesign, Ask Cheats):
1. Flashing Lights (unconfirmed): After you enter your initials in the "Hot Times" screen, scroll to the bottom where the metal rollers are and hold the Left direction for about 35 seconds. A face of one of the programmers will appear and say "I love this job." Now while racing any course with either the Police Car or the School Bus, press Brake twice, then the Gas once (and hold), and the lights will flash for as long as you hold the Gas. As soon as you let go, the lights go off. This code will not work with any other car.
2. Secret Cars (unconfirmed): From the Car Select screen, hold the C-Left, C-Down, & C-Up buttons, then move the Control Stick from car to car, you will notice that the ATV, School Bus, and the Police Car are available vehicles to race with.
3. Nitrous Boost (unconfirmed): After you enter your initials in the "Hot Times" screen, scroll to the bottom where the metal rollers are and hold the Left direction for about 35 seconds until a head comes rolling across the screen. Using any car in any race, you can now get a Nitrous Boost by press Brake three times, Gas, Brake, Gas. You can only use this once for every checkpoint passed.
4. Grand Canyon Shortcut (unconfirmed): After the first check point stay along the right side. When you head up the dirt ramp you will see a land bridge, cross it maintaining speed (if you go slow you will fall). This may give you a big lead over the other cars. There is similar shortcut to this to the right in the beginning of this stage.
5. Chicago (unconfirmed): After the first two turns you hit the broken car, it will fly through the air and place you in front of the leading car.
6. Missing Wheel (unconfirmed): Complete a two player challenge game and continuously sweep the Analog Stick in a clockwise Full-Circle. This will make the right front wheel of the losing player's vehicle fall off after the car rotates about four times. Another way, finish a 2-player race in first. If your average speed shown at he end has a four in the one-digits place, then the car display will be still on one side and the front-left wheel will fall out of place.
Wiki

Wiki, and the rest I do not care about. I barely care about these three...and preferred the Rush series at this time.
