Factoids: (IMDB, Moviemistakes)
1. Elaine does not appear in either part of "The Trip", and appears only minimally in "The Pitch" and "The Ticket", due to the fact that Julia Louis-Dreyfus was on maternity leave.
2. This Wallet aired the same day as the premiere of Mad About You, which even had a crossover between the two shows that year.
3. The misprinted card joke (in Bubble Boy) is based on an actual error spotted by one of the writers in (according to different sources) either a 1970s home edition of Jeopardy! or in Trivial Pursuit.
4. According to the "Notes About Nothing" feature on the Season 4 DVD, Kramer's memorable "I'm out" scene, in The Contest episode, was the character's one hundredth entrance into Jerry's apartment in the course of the series.
5. Thie Contest episode is the first appearance of George's mother, Estelle Costanza.
6. The Pick episode alludes to Shakespeare's play The Merchant of Venice in Jerry's monologue defending nose-pickers: "If we pick, do we not bleed?"
7. In the episode The Movie, the fictional film Rochelle, Rochelle ("a young girl's strange, erotic journey from Milan to Minsk") makes its first appearance. George later rents it from the video store in The Smelly Car, and it is turned into a Broadway musical starring Bette Midler in Season 6's The Understudy.
8. The Handicap Spot episode is the first appearance of Frank Costanza, George's father. He was played in this episode not by Jerry Stiller, but by John Randolph. In 1995, the scenes featuring Randolph were re-shot with Stiller for syndication in order to maintain better continuity.
9. While at his parents house (in The Handicap Spot episode), George sits on the couch and reads Glamour Magazine, the magazine that had got him in trouble in The Contest.
10. The slow motion shot of the "Junior Mint" falling out of the sky actually used a York Peppermint Pattie. A Junior Mint was used at first, but deemed too small to use in production, so a Peppermint Pattie was used instead.
11. The two-part season finale episode aired the same day as the finale of Cheers, whose timeslot would be claimed by Seinfeld at the start of the new fall season.
12. The two Greenpeace members on the raft at the end of this episode are played by series co-creator Larry David and writer Larry Charles.
Comments: B- (2.23.07) I borrowed this from a friend and watched at my leisure. With a continuous story arc many-a-plenty stories and jokes criss-crossed all the episodes (and even the season finale) which was ultimately rather enjoyable.
