Who Invented the Word Crunk

That's debatable, but it's not Lil Jon. The Dirty South rap terms is often defined as a mid-'90's jamming together of either "crazy and drunk," or "crazy and funk," or "chronic and drunk" (or any combo above). Another, rather weirder, theory holds that the creators were Conan O'Brien and Andy Richter: In the Late Night show's early days, they used "krunk" as a dirty-sounding new swear word that station execs would not know to bleep. But the earlier, even more unlikely, king of crunk was actually...Dr. Seuss. In a lesser known 1972 book, Marvin K Mooney Will You Please Go Now!, the master of crazy-assed non-sense asks the overstaying Mr. Mooney (probably a jibe at President Nixon) to leave, and recommends ways to do so, including a Zike-Bike and Bumble-Boat. Then he declares: "You can go on stilts. You can go by fish. You can go in a crunk-car if you wish."
