Nitpicks & Rumors - June

Nitpicks
Gripe - HD-DVD & Blu-Ray
Both formats can suck it. Especially HD-DVD. The improvement is so incramentally slight for HD-DVD, that I don't give a crap. Blue-Ray appears like it could be super awesome with its storage capacity, but the whole protection issues and other gripes are annoying cases against it that keeps coming up. As someone pointed out, its like the Beta vs VHS. Te only problem is...which one is going to go the route of Beta, and which one VHS? Screw those battles.
Gripe - Banana Chips
This popped up in my head this weekend. Banana chips ruined bananas for me. For about two summers, my parents were fanatical making them....bleh.
Gripe - Shaving Cream Soap
I hate it. Its lighter than foam soaps, and it sucks.
Gripe - An Historic
I hate the "an" before instances like, "an historic event."
Pick - Grand King
Select Comfort sells a Grand King mattress that is 30 percent larger than a traditional King-sized bed.
Gripe - Carrie Underwood
I can respect someone with talent (However, American Idol music is like getting an AOL disc in the mail...a reference I wish would be a dated one faster than it is), but I've never been a fan of country. Never have been unless Rednex-Cotton Eye Joe qualifies. On a recent road trip my fiancee played her whole album (not that big a deal), but for some reason it really irritated me, I don't know if it was because her voice seems so high or what but I was done with it.
Gripe - Blinkers
Use them on the road idiots.
Pick - Michael Moore
Sicko (2007 release-This film will focus on the American healthcare system, and will look at it through an inspection of the system of mental health care) and Fahrenheit 9/11½ (2007-In the wake of the 2004 United States Presidential election, Michael Moore continues to examine what happened to the United States after September 11, and how the Bush Administration allegedly used the tragic event to push forward its agenda for unjust wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.) are supposedly his current projects.
I would love to see a DVD release of TV Nation, and a Roger & Me release that includes 1992's Pets or Meat-
The Return to Flint.
DVD's: Roger & Me (1989), TV Nation (1994-'95), Canadian Bacon (1995), The Big One (1997), The Awful Truth (1999), Bowling for Columbine (2002), Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004)

The Mummy 3
Freeze Dried Movies reports today that Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz will indeed return for the next "Mummy" film. "The Mummy 3" will be set many years - apparently the 1940s - after the events of the last film, "The Mummy Returns". Though O'Connell (Fraser) and Evelyn (Weisz) are still very much in the picture, it'll be up to their grown-up son, Alex, to do the Mummy mashing.
Pink Panther Sequels
Starring Steve Martin in the classic Peter Sellers role – has the MGM/Sony greenlight for two sequels.
