Factoids, Extras & Eggs:
1. Considered the eighth album, produced by the Dust Brothers and Tony Hoffer and features the collaborations of; Jack White of The White Stripes plays bass on "Go It Alone." Money Mark, solo artist and keyboardist for the Beastie Boys, plays the organ on "Earthquake Weather." Petra Haden, formerly of that dog and the Rentals, provides an intricate backing vocal track for "Rental Car."
2. Guero (pron. IPA ['wero]) is a Mexican Spanish slang term for a pale-skinned or blonde-haired person, often used as a slur. Beck was often referred to as such in his youth, hence the title of the album and the track "Qué Onda Guero [sic]". (In Mexican slang, ¿Qué onda güero? means "what's up, white boy?" although it has also been translated as, "Where you going, white boy?"
4. The Deluxe Edition also included a DVD.
5. Guerolito was Beck’s first remix album, which featured all of the songs from Guero except for Send a Message to Her. Guerolito had 14 tracks, however Track 3 was on the Deluxe Edition as track 17. Track 8 was on the Deluxe Edition as track 18. Track 14 was on the Deluxe Edition as track 16. I really think that a Deluxe Guerolito would be appropriate and include the tracks original tracks without the three placed on Guero Deluxe, and the other 11 tracks recorded about this time (2 new and 9 more remixes).
