Factoids, Extras & Eggs:
Midnite Vultures
Factoids, Extras & Eggs: 1. Working titles for the album included Zatyricon, and I Can Smell the V.D. in the Club Tonight. 2. Debra was inspired by Prince's hit "Raspberry Beret", and originally recorded for Odelay, but he thought that it was too tongue-in-cheek. It was debuted main-stream in 1996, and, as Beck noted, "it became the centerpiece of the whole set. It was the song that people would react to more than the songs that they'd heard on the radio. So we kept playing it and playing it." Beck later, on his "Sea Change" tour, admitted how much he detested the song, and changed, to great effect, as many of the lyrics as possible in ad-lib. 3. For Beck, Midnite Vultures was a return to the high-energy performances that had been his trademark as far back as Lollapalooza. The live stage set included a red bed that descended from the ceiling for the song "Debra" and the touring band was supplemented by a brass section. 4. Get Real Paid quotes directly from Kraftwerk's Computer World album. 5. With the Deluxe release of The Information, Guero & now Odelay, hopefully Beck will travel back through his other albums and bulk them up too. Like I mentioned in the Guero Comments, I wouldn't mind a N00N Vultures release with all the remixes included.
Sea Change
Factoids, Extras & Eggs: 1. Sea Change was conceptualized as an album with one unifying theme—the stages following the end of a relationship. The album also featured string arrangements by Beck's father David Campbell, and collaborated with producer Nigel Godrich. Although some radio singles were released, no commercial singles were made available to the public. 2. Released with four different album covers, each version containing distinct artwork on the CD and the booklet. There are also different hidden messages written under each version's CD tray. 3. Though not an album, these tracks were released as free mp3's on Beck's website throughout 2005. I think that even though they were treleased throughout 2005, they seem to fit with this album better. 4. This album just screams for a Deluxe release.
Guero
1. Considered the eighth album, produced by the Dust Brothers and Tony Hoffer and features the collaborations of; Jack White of The White Stripes plays bass on "Go It Alone." Money Mark, solo artist and keyboardist for the Beastie Boys, plays the organ on "Earthquake Weather." Petra Haden, formerly of that dog and the Rentals, provides an intricate backing vocal track for "Rental Car." 2. Guero (pron. IPA ['wero]) is a Mexican Spanish slang term for a pale-skinned or blonde-haired person, often used as a slur. Beck was often referred to as such in his youth, hence the title of the album and the track "Qué Onda Guero [sic]". (In Mexican slang, ¿Qué onda güero? means "what's up, white boy?" although it has also been translated as, "Where you going, white boy?" 4. The Deluxe Edition also included a DVD. 5. Guerolito was Beck’s first remix album, which featured all of the songs from Guero except for Send a Message to Her. Guerolito had 14 tracks, however Track 3 was on the Deluxe Edition as track 17. Track 8 was on the Deluxe Edition as track 18. Track 14 was on the Deluxe Edition as track 16. I really think that a Deluxe Guerolito would be appropriate and include the tracks original tracks without the three placed on Guero Deluxe, and the other 11 tracks recorded about this time (2 new and 9 more remixes).

3. "Timebomb" was released as a single on August 21, 2007. Sited as "a song for bonfires, blackouts and the last hurrah of summer, the song was played live throughout 2006-'07, and once predicted to be on The Information album.
