Factoids, Extras & Eggs:
1. Working titles for the album included Zatyricon, and I Can Smell the V.D. in the Club Tonight.

2. Debra was inspired by Prince's hit "Raspberry Beret", and originally recorded for Odelay, but he thought that it was too tongue-in-cheek. It was debuted main-stream in 1996, and, as Beck noted, "it became the centerpiece of the whole set. It was the song that people would react to more than the songs that they'd heard on the radio. So we kept playing it and playing it." Beck later, on his "Sea Change" tour, admitted how much he detested the song, and changed, to great effect, as many of the lyrics as possible in ad-lib.
3. For Beck, Midnite Vultures was a return to the high-energy performances that had been his trademark as far back as Lollapalooza. The live stage set included a red bed that descended from the ceiling for the song "Debra" and the touring band was supplemented by a brass section.
4. Get Real Paid quotes directly from Kraftwerk's Computer World album.
5. With the Deluxe release of The Information, Guero & now Odelay, hopefully Beck will travel back through his other albums and bulk them up too. Like I mentioned in the Guero Comments, I wouldn't mind a N00N Vultures release with all the remixes included.
