Scientists Invent Self Cleaning Clothes

Taken from ShortNews - Source: www.telegraph.co.uk
Scientist have developed a technology that allows clothes to go for weeks at a time between washes. Nanoparticles are imbedded in the fabric using microwaves, allowing the fabric to resist water, stains, and bacteria - including anthrax.
The material, which has been licenced to British company Alexium, is expected to do particularly well in sports apparel and medical uniforms. The coating does degrade with time but can be restored by soaking the garment in a special solution.
The technology was originally developed by the US military at a cost of £14 million to protect it's soldiers against biological warfare and infection. Soldiers reported good results after trialling treated t-shirts and underwear for several weeks.
