Factoids:
IMDB, MovieMistakes, Wiki

1. Steven Bochco stated in his interview on the Season One DVD that had he been able to finish the series and write a "final" season (as opposed to ABC's abrupt cancellation of the show in its fourth season), he would have had a season long story arc in which Doogie becomes disillusioned with medicine and in the end, becomes a writer.
2. The concept for the show was allegedly inspired by the story of Dr. Howard A. Zucker who became an MD at age 22 and had a cousin who worked in programming at ABC at the time.
Comments: Rating C (2.3.07, Rental) With the maturing storylines from the first three seasons...what happened? It was like the network gave up on the show. Episodes are all out of order this season, and it not only felt like there was a new writer for each episode, but the stories themselves felt like they should have been from the first season. A sad ending to a promising series. The last episode comes off lame too.
