Aside from Soup to Nuts and a few movies in 1933, I did not include many Ted Healy and His Stooges appearances or the musical comedy series shorts for MGM like Nertsery Rhymes. The new act started in 1934. In 1958 with TV syndication of the shorts a reboosting of interest occurred, and more movies came. Shemp left in '32 replaced by his brother - but when he suffered a debilitating stroke in 1946, Shemp rejoined the act until his death in 1955 (and was replaced twice more). Larry suffered a serious stroke in 1970 he was unable to continue performing. Emil Sitka, a longtime actor in Stooge comedies, was contracted to replace Larry - but no film was ever made with him in the role, although publicity photographs exist. The last project they worked on, a pilot, was later cut into the 1970 Kook's Tour. Larry's paralyzing stroke effectively marked the end of the act. He died in January 1975. Moe died of cancer a few months later. Joe Besser died in 1988, followed by Curly-Joe in 1993 & the Unoffical Stooge member Emil Sitka in 1998. (wiki)

2. A film about the Three Stooges, simply titled The Three Stooges, is scheduled to be released on 2009. The Farrelly Brothers are still attached to the project, even though their Warner Bros. deal to write and direct the film has expired.
